Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Do the meek inherit the earth?

“Some feel that fear is okay as a lifestyle because they’ve heard that the meek shall inherit the earth. So they can go on with being meek as a way of life. They become soft-spoken and compliant, never standing for themselves; always resigned to being a fluffy doormat. But scholars now say that in the scriptural texts that were translated from the Greek, the word praos doesn’t exactly mean “meek” as people have always thought. In fact, it is more accurate to say it means “disciplined.” A very big difference in those translations. It’s much more encouraging to now realize that the disciplined shall inherit the earth.”

Letting Go

20130906-140046.jpg

Letting go can be very difficult. Change is often greeted with mixed emotions. Change is essential for growth to occur. When we let go we make space for something new and exciting. The fear of the unknown often keeps us captive to that which we know to be stale and unfulfilling. It takes a courageous leap of faith to venture into a new environment trusting our instincts and desires. Once the jump has occurred, we can then find our balance once again and anticipate our new beginning.
